Good News from HEPCA

Preserve our reefs

I bring to you all today some great news. The Minister of Agriculture
finally issued a decree yesterday canceling his previous decree which
allowed some companies to fish and collect the reef colored fish and export
it to Europe and to any demanding market.

The previous decision had a devastating effect on nature and on the coral reef condition in the whole area. HEPCA launched a huge campaign against this decision and lobbied with other agencies, enthusiastic individuals, and major media representatives.

HEPCA as a result of such a decision have requested from our lawyer to stop
all the legal actions and the court case that we submitted against the
Minister's old decision and decree.

I would like to thank all the people who helped in getting things back to
order; Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy, Dr. Ayman Afifi, Dr. Mohamed Salem and very
special thanks to Mr. Mahmoud Elkaisony.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Zohair Grana Minister of
Tourism, Gen. Bakr el Rashidy Governor of the Red Sea and last but not least Dr. Mostafa Fouda Head of the National Conservation Sector.

Such achievements give us hope that things can change to the better and
gives us the energy and the will to continue our fight against the
unprecedented attacks against the natural resource of the red sea. I
conclude with what Margret Mead once Said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has".

Tampering with results

	Ehsan Hatem/Yara Naoum

Miss Egypt 2007 Ehsan Hatem was getting prepared to represent Egypt in the Miss Universe Pageant in Mexico, when things started getting ugly & problems started popping up!
It seems there was some tampering with the results of the Miss Egypt Pageant; it appears that Miss Egypt 2007 contestant Yara Naoum should have been the one to be crowned queen!

Although Yara got the highest marks, she ended up as the 2nd runner-up!
Both girls are smart & beautiful & kind hearted ... But it seems Yara believes she should have been crowned as Miss Egypt 2007 & thus will take this matter to court!
Until otherwise happens, Ehsan Hatem is Miss Egypt 2007!

	The Clown Anemonefish

Description & Behavior

The Clown anemonefish, Amphiprion ocellaris (Cuvier in Cuvier and Valenciennes, 1830), aka Common clownfish, False clown anemonefish, False anemonefish or "Nemo" from the great movie Finding Nemo. The color pattern is the most important feature used to identify anemonefish. Normally bright orange with three white bars, the middle one with a forward-projecting bulge; bars have narrow black margins. Maximum length about 11 cm. Similar species: A. percula (northern Queensland and Melanesia) is nearly identical, but has 10 (sometimes 9) dorsal spines compared to 11 (sometimes 10) in A. ocellaris; the spinous (anterior) part of the dorsal fin in A. ocellaris is taller (its height fits about 2.1-2.9 in the head length compared to 3.1-3.3 in A. percula). Distributions of these two species do not overlap.

	Rosetta Stone.

Egypt said it would seek the temporary return of some of its most precious artifacts from museums abroad, including the Rosetta Stone and a bust of Nefertiti.

The country's chief archaeologist, Zahi Hawass, said the Foreign Ministry would send letters this week to France, Germany, the United States and Great Britain requesting that the ancient artifacts be loaned to Egypt.

Hawass has previously demanded the permanent return of many of the artifacts, claiming some of them were taken illegally.

This time, the country is requesting museums loan the artifacts so they can be exhibited either at the 2011 opening of the Egyptian Museum, near the site of the Great Pyramids at Giza, or the Atum museum, which is set to open in the Nile Delta city of Meniya in 2010, the Supreme Council of Antiquities said in a statement.

Have fun making this frame for your dog's picture. You might want to make one for your friend's dog too!

	Servings: 6 Time:35 min / 25 min prep

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons margarine
2/3 cup skim milk
1 large banana, peeled and cut into chunks (ripe)
1/2 cup frozen fat free non-dairy topping, thawed
1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
1 dash ground nutmeg
3 cups fresh strawberries


1. In a large bowl stir together flour, cocoa powder, sugar and baking powder.
2. Cut in margarine till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Make a well in the center; add skim milk all at once.
4. Stir just till dough clings together.
5. Drop in equal portions onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
6. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
7. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
8. Meanwhile, for banana cream, in a medium bowl mash banana with a fork until smooth. (You should have about 1/2 cup).
9. Add whipped topping, yogurt, honey and nutmeg; stir till smooth.
10. Reserve 6 berries for garnish; slice remaining berries.
11. To assemble, split cocoa biscuits in half crosswise.
12. Set tops aside.
13. Arrange strawberry slices on bottoms.
14. Dollop about 2 tablespoons of the banana cream mixture over sliced berries on each biscuit.
15. Top with the biscuit tops.
16. Dollop 1 tablespoons of the remaining banana cream on top of each of the assembled shortcakes.
17. Garnish with the reserved whole strawberries.Combine all of the ingredients with a mixer on medium speed or in a blender on low speed for 30 seconds.
