Lentil soup with she'reya |
This recipe is a combination of the tradition she'reya soup and lentil soup. Only lentil soup is made with lentils, potatoes and carrots with no other vegetables. |

Cuisine: Egyptian
Main ingredients: Lentils, Potatoes, Carrots, Chicken broth
Time of preparation: 20 Minutes
Time of cooking: 20 minutes
Serving: 5
Ingredients:
1 Cup Yellow Lentils
1 Potato, peeled
1 Onion, quartered
2-3 Garlic Cloves, optional
1/2 cup She'reya
2 Carrots, peeled
4 cups Chicken Broth or 2 chicken stock cubes Fine Foods Knorr dissolved in 4 cups water
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
1. Wash lentils well under running water and drain. Cut carrots and potatoes into medium pieces.
2. Fill 2/3 medium deep pan with water. Add lentils, onion, garlic, potato and carrot pieces. Bring to boil. Leave to boil for about 10 minutes until all components are tender.
3. Pour components of pan in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a sieve in a bowl. Set aside.
4. In a medium deep pan, heat broth and bring to boil. Add she'reya, reduce heat and leave to boil for about 10 minutes.
5. Add strained lentil mixture and stir well. Leave for another 5 minutes. You can add more broth if soup texture is too thick. Serve immediately.

Gamal Hamza has been named in Zamalek’s 18-man squad for the Cairo derby on Monday while Skipper Hazem Emam and veteran left-back Tarek Al-Sayed were dropped from the list.
Hamza was called up after resolving his financial dispute with the club. He will replace Mostafa Gaafar who misses the game due to an injury.
Emam and Al-Sayed were left out since the arrival of Dutch coach Ruud Krol and their omission from the anticipated clash is likely to raise doubts over their future with Zamalek.
Jordanian left-back Khaled Saad, who has just made one appearance as a substitute after joining Zamalek from Faisali in the close season, has been once again left out of the team's squad.
Defender Wissem El-Abdi has returned to the squad after he was omitted from the previous league game against Enppi due to showing up late after fulfilling international duty with Tunisia.
Youngsters Sherif Ashraf and Mohamed Ibrahim have been also named.

7. Cruise the Nile
A trip down the world's longest river will allow you to catch a glimpse of the agricultural life, which is concentrated along its lush banks. The Nile will also take you to some of Egypt's most fascinating ancient sites, including the Valley of the Kings (see below) across from Luxor, and Kom Ombo near Aswan. The latter is the only Egyptian temple dedicated to more than one god - the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus.
If you are the adventurous type and/or on a tight budget, consider travelling by local felucca boat. Those who like their spot of luxury, own bathroom and privacy (still at a very affordable rate) are better off booking a trip on one of the larger cruise boats.

The Strait of Tiran is among the finest diving sites in the Red Sea. It lies at the mouth of the Gulf of Aqaba. There are four main coral reefs in this region; Jackson Reef, Woodhouse Reef, Thomas Reef and Gordon Reef. All named after the English officers who drew the first marine map of this region. This area is full of infinite number of corals, reef and pelagic.
Jackson Reef: is located in the northernmost reef in Tiran and is known for its wrecks. Kormoran; for instance, a German ship which sank in 1984, is about 80 meters long and easily reached by scuba divers. Turtles and sharks could be observed. This area is also suitable for snorkeling.
Woodhouse reef: located between Thomas Reef and Jackson Reef is narrow and long. The site requires a drift dive and good weather to enjoy the dive. The water in this area is clear and offers beautiful sights of sea turtles, jackfish and many corals; moreover, it is one of the best sites to observe sharks.
Thomas Reef: this part requires drift diving. It has no mooring points and it is characterized with many caves and crevices.
Gordon Reef: the diving in this spot is safe as there is fixed mooring sheltered from the wind. This site is known for the wreck of the Lovilla (or Lullia) which sank in 1981. It is a good place for snorkeling.

Freds Swim Academy recently launched with Swimming Frogs Club a new club experience at the Red Sea.
The swim club offers all children, that just learned to swim with breaststroke technique and all advanced swimmers new training opportunities. With breast- and backstroke, front- and back crawl, diving and snorkeling training the club offers a wide range for all who like to stay in the water (both pool and sea)
Based on a monthly membership with two training sessions per week in different groups (acc. to age and abilities) the club ensures that a lot of fun is enjoyed by all participants.
For all club members Freds Swim Academy has developed according to European training standards various certifications on different levels to prove the abilities of each single child and show a certain level of confidence in water.
Our "Blue Frog" levels start right from becoming a swimmer with different distances, jumping and diving to become approved.
Our "Green Sport Frog" levels are made to check the advanced levels with multiple checks in swimming distances, styles, diving and even rescue skills. All approved levels will be documented with a certificate, passport and special designed sign. A fancy membership card is also available.

What you'll need:
1. Tissue paper
2. Scissors
3. Crayons
4. Pipe cleaners
How to make it:
1. Cut eight 3 1/2-inch squares out of the tissue paper
2. Using the side of a crayon, color along two opposite edges of each square.
3. Place one of the squares on a flat surface with the uncolored edges at the top and bottom. Starting at the top, fold the square as you would a paper fan. The pleats should be about a half inch wide. Fold the remaining squares using the same method.
4. For a stem, bend a pipe cleaner 1 1/2 inches from an end to form a hook. Stack the pleated squares (without unfolding them). Place the stack inside the hook and twist the hook end around the stem. Then, to open up the flower to full bloom, twist the petals a half turn near the stem.
