| Finally it is here ... our brand new calendar!! |
A Calendar, is the big player and almost the most important element for every Traveling website. Why? Simply, because you can not do any reservation or booking without it.

|
Here - in Spot Local Labs - we give our users the first priority while creating or adding new features to our network. We even invite our friends (beginner users) to our labs for "Beta Testing" to get the exact reactions and feedbacks; and that was the case when we re-invented our calendar - the big player of our online Reservation System
These are the most important issues we were thinking of while we are designing our new calendar:
- Simple
- Very clear & usable
- Very light for fast loading
- Fits in all our network places without taking large space
- shows 2 months instead of one for better preview
- shows 12 months total in front of users eyes all the time for fast selection
- choosing either check in or check out dates should reflect automatically in the number of nights (no guessing)
- Shows the available stuff that can be booked only (reducing the search results for fast browsing and booking)
We would like to know if our new calendar helps you in your next booking and makes your life easier or not. You can contact us directly via email: feedback@spotlocal.net

Basbousa with keshta |
We are all used to plain basbousa with nuts and condensed cream is served separately beside it. In this recipe, condensed cream is used in stuffing basbousa. It is incredibly delicious. |
| Ramadan Recipe |
 |
|
Cuisine: Middle Eastern
Main ingredients: Semolina, Butter,
Condensed cream, Sugar syrup
Time of preparation: 20 Minutes
Time of cooking: 20 minutes
Serving: 8
Ingredients:
2 cups Semolina
1 cup Sugar
250 g Condensed Cream (Keshta)
1/2 cup Butter or Ghee, melted
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1 tbsp Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 pack Yoghurt
1 cup Sugar Syrup
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, mix semolina, sugar, yoghurt, butter or ghee, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well with your hands to form basbousa dough.
2. Butter a round metal baking dish. Spread ½ quantity of basbousa at the bottom to form an even layer. Press on it with your hands to become firm.
3. Spread condensed cream over basbousa but do not let it reach the edges. Spread the other half of basbousa but do not press.
4. Heat oven to medium-high heat (200-210 C). Place baking dish in oven for 15-20 minutes. When basbousa edges turn golden brown, open broiler until surface becomes golden brown.
5. Pour cool syrup over basbousa right after it comes out of oven then leave to cool. Put serving platter over baking dish. Invert dish so that basbousa is placed in platter.
Tip: You can make a mixture of ghee and butter instead of using only one of them. You can also use yellow butter.

Egypt: How bazaar |
When visiting Egypt, there are ten things you absolutely must do. |
| Feature Article |
 |
|
Continued from last weeks issue. click here to read no 8 of "When visiting Egypt, there are ten things you absolutely must do."
9. Eat sweets
Egyptians have a notorious hankering for sinfully sweet pastries, and you are likely to develop one, too, once you sample the goods.
One popular treat is baklava, filo-thin pastry filled with nuts, pistachios and lathered in syrup.
Another is kunafa, a Ramadan favourite made from vermicelli-like batter atop a cream or sweet cheese base, or umm ali, layers of pastry filled with raisins and nuts, then soaked in milk and ice cream before being baked in the oven.
Peckish yet?!
No. 10 on the list of things you absolutely must do in Egypt will follow next week.

| Egypt to put Tutankhamun mummy on display in tomb |
| News |
 |
|
Egypt will put the mummy of the boy pharaoh Tutankhamun on display next month inside his tomb in Luxors Valley of the Kings, allowing visitors to see his face for the first time, Egypts chief archaeologist said on Tuesday.
Zahi Hawass, head of the High Council for Antiquities, said he would place the mummy in a climate-controlled glass showcase in the tomb and cover the body with linen. Tutankhamuns bare face would be visible.
You will enter the tomb and see for the first time the face of Tutankhamun ... This is the first time in history that anyone will see the mummy (in public). This will continue the magic of Tutankhamun, Hawass told Reuters in an interview.
Tutankhamun, who died on the cusp of adulthood, ruled Egypt between about 1361 and 1352 BC. The 1922 discovery of his intact tomb, whose treasures included a now famous gold funerary mask, stunned the archaeological community.
Although the artefacts from Tutankhamuns burial tomb have toured the world, the mummified body of the king has been examined only a handful of times in detail since the tomb was discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter.

Pencil Toppers |
What you will need:
1. Pencils
2. Embroidery floss
3. Tape
4. Beads, charms or bells
5. Felt
6. Colored paper
7. Scissors
How to make it:
1. For a dangly decoration, tape the center of a 12-inch piece of embroidery floss to a pencil just below the eraser. Wind the ends of the floss around the pencil several times, then tie them together.
2. String beads, charms or bells onto the trailing ends. Tie overhand knots below the last beads to keep them from slipping off.
3. To make a fringed pencil top, cut out a 6-inch-wide felt circle with a 1/4-inch slit in the center and slip it over the eraser. Then, make a series of 2 1/2-inch cuts inward from the edge of the circle.
4. For a stand-up fringe, wrap and tape colored paper around the pencil end and snip downward through all the layers.
