Tourism continuing to rise in Egypt |
| Article |
 |
|
A new report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization has said that tourism is rising in Egypt. The report also said that investing in property in the North African nation "could be good news."
According to the U.N. tourism organization, tourism in the country increased by 20 percent during 2007, which in turn has seen a rise in property demands.
"This is excellent news for the buy-to-let market," said Marion Isom in a statement on behalf of La Siesta Tourism and Real Estate Services.
"Tourism figures always have an effect on the property market of a region and this rapid growth in interest in this amazing country is a welcome step forward," Isom added.

| Chores for little ones - four ways to help around the house |
| Parents & kids |
 |
|
 |
Children doing chores |
Your toddler wants to help with the household chores. More often than not, you can count on two things:
1. The chores will take twice as long.
2. You'll have to clean up once the chores are done.
But kids love to help, and the sooner they learn basic skills, the sooner they'll become your partners at cleanup time. Here are a few tasks that even toddlers can do with just a little training.
1. Laundry, Laundry, and More Laundry
Matching socks is a good way to get started. Most adults don't like to do this anyway, and it can keep a toddler occupied for quite some time. Begin by asking him to separate the dark colors from the light ones, then see if he can match up the pairs. Later, he can sort the clothes by category (for example, shirts in one spot and pants in another) and even put his own clothes in his dresser drawers.
2. Table Dressing
A child can be a whiz at setting and clearing tables as long as she takes it one step at a time. Show her that the plates go in front of the chairs, and how to line up utensils (no knives, of course) and cups. Keep napkins in a handy basket so she can add these to the place settings on her own.
Clearing tables is even easier. One Thanksgiving, my three-year-old kept bringing me the dirty dishes as I filled the dishwasher. To my amazement, she had cleared the entire table and was wiping it down with a sponge by the time I had finished loading the dishwasher!
3. Dishwasher Duty
You rinse, he loads. Show your child that the wider rows on the top rack are for items such as glasses and small dishes, while the narrower rows on the bottom are for thin plates. While he's helping, he is also learning about shapes and sizes. If you can't stand the thought of a broken dish, consider buying a set of plastic plates and cups for everyday use. For unloading, let him hand you the dishes while you dry and put away. If any cups turned over during the cycle, let your child empty them into the sink.
4. Making the Bed
Realistically, your beds haven't had that perfectly made look since your first child was born, so why worry about that now? A toddler can bring up the corners, press down the wrinkles, and tuck in the unseemly overhangs with a fair amount of skill. Whatever you do, let her arrange the pillows (and resist the temptation to straighten them out). When you walk through the bedroom later, those crooked pillows will make you smile. |

| Investing in your soul - 3 tips to nourish your inner self |
| Body and Soul |
|
 |
Mary McLeod Bethune |
"Invest in the human soul. Who knows, it might be a diamond in the rough." -Mary McLeod Bethune
People spend a lot of time working on developing strengths, correcting weaknesses and learning new skills. While all of these things are valuable and necessary to improve performance, it's important not to forget about nourishing and investing in your soul.
1. Write down all of the things you are thankful for in life.
Keep a running list of the people, things and experiences that you really appreciate. Then, take time to read it every day. You may want to include these things in prayer, or if you're really enthusiastic about them, you can shout them out. Either way, you need to remind yourself daily of the blessing in your life. Living in a state of gratitude helps you to celebrate successes more often.
2. Enjoy the silence.
Figure out ways to get some quiet time. Some people like to meditate, although I have a hard time committing to this activity. Instead, I try to utilize time in the car by myself to think without the radio on. The important thing is to find a way that works for you to be able to reflect on things happening in your life. When doing this, examine not only what you think, but also how you feel. At times, though, you need to just give your brain a break and let yourself rest and recuperate. Everyone needs to have a way to recharge their internal batteries, and it also helps to be able to hit the inner 'reset' button from time to time.
3. Make time for yourself and loved ones.
You've probably heard the saying, "No one on their death bed ever says that they wish they spent more time at work." Work will always be there waiting for you, so it's important that you make time to do things for yourself. A balanced lifestyle leads to both increased performance and satisfaction. Doing things to improve your health, like exercising or playing sports, is a great way to boost your spirit. Also, few things in life enrich the soul more than spending time with the people you love.
